General Notes:
Studied French on a post-war short course at Oxford University -- Obtained B.A. in 1949. Worked in France with the war graves commision. Met Christine with whom he had a relationship. She had a terminated pregnancy that resulted in sterility. Bored with the war graves, George returned to the RAF where he qualified as a fighter pilot at Cranwell. He was killed flying a Gloster Meteor F.8 fighter jet on a routine training mission. It mysteriously went out of control and dived into a ploughed field. Suspected canopy blow off while performing aerobatics. Upkeep of grave by RAF Waterbeach, Cambridge. More info: http://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=20629
Christine moved to the United States where she married (but, because sterile, never had any children).
